CAN I BRING A SUITCASE ON SAFARI?
You can bring a small backpack or trolley with necessities for the nights you will be on safari. Towels are provided by the lodges/camps. An extra spare is recommended, as the dust kicked up by the jeep is a lot and you will probably find our beloved red soil all over you.
What shall I pack?
Comfortable shoes;
Slippers;
Hat;
Sunglasses;
Sunscreen;
Sweatshirt and long pants for evening and early morning;
Swimsuit;
Mosquito repellent;
Camera;
Binoculars for animal spotting;
Pills against motion sickness;
Wet wipes
How can I settle the safari payment?
You can pay for Safaris in either EURO or DOLLARS, although EURO is preferred. Credit cards can be used at resorts although they are subject to fees of up to 7 percent. To buy souvenirs at the stopover along the way or at the accommodation, Kenyan shillings are required.
During the safari, are we covered by insurance?
Our safaris all have liability coverage in case of accident and rescue and/or replacement jeep service in case of vehicle breakdown. Personal medical insurance is not included, which we always recommend prior to departure for Kenya and to have coverage throughout your vacation
What are the accommodations on safari nights?
Dreaming Kenya offers you a selection of mid- to upper-level tented camps and lodges. All our proposals are inside the parks and not outside. This means that we will not lose game drive time to enter or exit the gates, but since we are already inside it will be all time gained to devote to researching the wonderful animals in the area.
Is the safari suitable for young children?
The safari has no contraindications for children of all ages. Our jeeps are all equipped with seat belts and the lodges/tent camps surrounded by nets with electricity and with guards present at all gates. Of course, it is important to consider that you will spend many hours in a jeep (for example, Tsavo East is about 2 hours from Watamu). Therefore, each parent must consider the feasibility of this adventure for their children. From our side, we would highly recommend this experience for your children, because they will be the ones who will have the most fun!
